Fifteen points a game sounds ordinary. It was 17th best in the NBL.

Why this was worth a look

A scoring average only means something next to the other ones, and nobody publishes the other ones. I wanted the whole league in a single picture so that the next time a number turns up in a preview I can see where it actually sits.

Who is in this

This is the 101 of 164 NBL players who played 10 or more games at 10 or more minutes a game in 2025-26, finals included. Both filters earn their place: without them the list is led by someone who scored well in two appearances. A player's total points divided by the games they played. A game played is a box-score row with minutes above zero. The feed's own points stat; the average is worked out from it.Points a game is the feed's stat divided by games, and a missing stat is never counted as a zero.

The shape of a league

Sorted tallest first, the league is a short spike and a very long slope. The top of it is Bryce Cotton at 25.9 points a game across 40 games, then Kendric Davis at 25.1, also across 40. After those two the line falls away quickly: Casey Prather averaged 24.4 but in 12 games, Nathan Sobey 22.5 and Jack McVeigh 21.2, and that is the whole list of players who beat 20 a game.

By the 17th name the average is down to 15, and by the 52nd it is down to 10. The middle player in the league averaged 10.2 points a game, and a quarter of qualifying players averaged 6.3 or fewer.

What a number is worth

The useful way to read this chart is backwards: pick an average and see what it was worth. Twenty-five a game put a player 3rd. Twenty put them 6th. Fifteen, which reads like a solid starter's night, put them 17th of 101. Twelve put them 31st, and ten — the number that sounds like a real contributor — put them 52nd, which is the middle of the league and slightly below the median.

That gap between how a number sounds and where it sits is the entire point of drawing the crowd instead of quoting a percentile.

The top of the list

The same names, drawn large enough to read against each other rather than against the whole league.

Two caveats sit inside the top five. Casey Prather's 24.4 came from 12 games, the fewest of anyone near the top, and a 12-game average moves far more easily than a 40-game one. Jack McVeigh played 29. Cotton and Davis both played 40, which is the whole season and then finals, so their averages are the two most settled numbers on the chart.

Sam Mennenga, eighth here on 17.7, is the same player who improved most between 2024-25 and 2025-26, which is a reminder that a position on this list is one season and not a career.

What this cannot tell you

Points a game is a volume stat and it rewards minutes. It says nothing about whether a player was efficient, whether the shots were good ones, or what they did at the other end, and it flatters anyone given the ball in a side with nobody else to give it to. It also cannot be compared across seasons here without care, because the league's scoring has moved. If Punt ever stores time on court by period I would redo this per-minute and see which of these names survive it.
