For everyone who reads numbers

Accessibility

Project Punt is a table of counts. If you can't read the table, the product doesn't work — so this is a product concern, not a compliance one.

The standard we aim at

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. We have not yet had a formal audit against it, and we don't claim conformance until someone has measured it. What follows is what the product does today.

What is in place

  • Colour never carries a meaning on its own. Every verdict that is coloured is also worded — over and under, won and lost, up and down are labels first and colours second.
  • Keyboard. Every control is reachable and operable without a mouse. Panels that open over the page keep focus inside themselves until they close, and return it to where it came from.
  • Reduced motion. If your system asks for less motion, the interface animates nothing that isn't data revealing itself.
  • Light and dark. The theme follows your system setting until you pin one from the account menu.
  • Real text, real controls. Numbers are text, not images; switches are checkboxes; menus are menus. Screen readers get the same structure a sighted reader sees.

What we know is not done

  • No formal WCAG audit, no automated contrast sweep, and no testing with screen-reader users.
  • Charts — the shot maps and form curves — are drawn, and the plotted points are not individually readable by assistive technology. The numbers they are drawn from appear in the tables around them.
  • Some data tables are wide. They scroll inside their own frame rather than reflowing, which is readable but not comfortable at high zoom on a small screen.

Tell us

If something on the site is hard to use, email support@projectpunt.com.au with the page and what you were trying to do. Barriers get fixed ahead of features; a report from you is the fastest way something gets on that list.
