The origin
Checking one footy prop by hand means the stat archives in three tabs, the fixture somewhere else, the weather somewhere else again — and by the time you've stitched it together, the line's moved. US punters have had tools for this for years. Australian footy had a beloved spreadsheet archive and nothing else.
So we built the thing we wanted: type the line, get the answer. Under ten seconds, on your phone, from the couch or the pub.
Who writes this
Adam built Project Punt in Adelaide, after one too many Thursday nights checking a single footy prop across three tabs. The notebook runs on the same database the app does, and every article ends with its working.
Every article in the notebook carries that name, the date the numbers were read, and a working section naming the window, what was left out, and what the article cannot tell you. Nothing there is a tip and nothing is modelled — the charts count what happened. If one of them is wrong, say so and it gets corrected in public rather than quietly.
The two rules we won't break
1. We take nothing from bookmakers. We licence prices and show them, because a hit rate without a price beside it can't tell you whether a bet is worth taking. But no affiliate commission, no referral fees, no links out to operators — which keeps our incentives pointed at your research, not your turnover.
2. Every number shows its working. No black boxes, no invented trends. Almost everything on screen is counting — hit rates, averages, splits, ranks. The one projection we make — on the compare board, and scored in public on our methodology page — is a base rate plus a stack of labelled adjustments in the stat's own units, every term visible. If we can't point at the actual games that produced a number, it doesn't go on screen. And the sample size sits next to every figure, so thin evidence can't pretend to be thick.

Built and hosted in Australia — Sydney to be exact, servers and all, so your page loads before you've sat back down. Three seasons across the AFL and NRL, every club and every player, plus the NBL, the WNBA and the racing codes — updated automatically every day, and prices every fifteen minutes.
